The key to a successful recording session lies in mic placement. Selecting the appropriate microphones and positioning them accurately on the talent can greatly enhance the quality of the final audiovisual product.

We've created a simple guide to follow whenever we need to position a microphone, ensuring the process is done correctly every time.

1. Before we begin, we'll explain to the talent what we're about to do. Then, we'll ask for their approval before proceeding.

2. If possible, this process will involve another person's assistance, typically either the set costumer or the makeup artist. They'll be there to help ensure everything goes smoothly.

3. Whenever practicable, we'll opt to avoid placing the mic directly on the skin or hair. Our first choice will always be to secure it onto clothing.

4. When working with underage talents, their parents or legal guardians will handle mic placement. We'll explain the process to them and inform the production department of any additional time needed.
